Congratulations on being awarded the prestigious Ruth Titilayo Educational Foundation (RTEF) Scholarship. As a potential scholar of the foundation, here are the conditions of payment for your scholarship award.
- The RTEF Scholarship is a partially funded scholarship capped at #100,000 for tuition allowance and #20,000 for maintenance allowance
- Grant awardees will be responsible for paying the remainder of their tuition fees should the grant be unable to cover the whole fee.
- Further allowances – for example internal travel costs associated with the course of study or research and fieldwork expenses – are paid at the discretion of the committee.
- Grants will be awarded only in 2026. Parameters for subsequent years are currently being defined.
- Before the scholarship payment is disbursed, awardees must have fulfilled their obligations by attending and participating in the RTEF flagship programs such as the RTEF Talks and the RTEF Hangout. Absence from these programs without adequate justification would be seen as a violation of the scholarship agreement by the foundation.
- For awardees who had already paid their fees before being awarded the RTEF Scholarship, the scholarship award will be paid forward to the next year of their studies. For final year students who had already paid their school fees, the committee will in their discretion then deliberate internally on an adequate grant that would be paid to you.
- Note that on NO ACCOUNT would your tuition fees be paid directly into your account by the foundation. Rather it would be paid on your behalf to your school.
